Upcoming Events at Immaculata

Immaculata School Council is pleased to present Paul Davis on March 7th, 2019. Paul Davis brings over 27 years of IT knowledge and expertise to his speaking engagements. He has presented to over 510,000 students in Grades 4-12 from Ontario, Alberta, Nova Scotia and Quebec to cities across the US - all in just over 6 years! Relating to kids as a father and to parents as an IT professional, all presentations are targeted so that each audience leaves with a wealth of knowledge and empowerment for their respective age level.

Paul Davis will give his Social Networking and Online Safety presentation to our students in Grades 7-11 on Thursday, March 7th during the day and to parents in the evening from 6:30-8:00 pm in our Learning Commons.

Immaculata High School is looking for volunteers for a Career Day to be held May 8th, 2019. Career Day brings both students and professionals and tradespeople from many walks of life together to discuss job paths and opportunities. Immaculata is fortunate to be centrally located in Ottawa, close to many professional businesses and organizations. 

The Career Day is hosted by Immaculata's Parent Council and will take place on Wednesday May 8th, 2019 at Immaculata High School, 140 Main Street, from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm. The format will involve stations/carousels around our upper cafeteria. Each career representative will spend a suggested 10 minutes describing their highlighted career which would include – educational pathways/requirements and training information, prospects, opportunities and challenges. Students will have an opportunity to ask a few questions then rotate to the next station of their choice. As with all career fairs, supporting documents or hand-outs/props that you feel would be beneficial are welcomed.

OCSB Parent Involvement Committee (PIC)

The Ottawa Catholic School Board Parent Involvement Committee (PIC) is a provincially mandated committee made up of parents, a trustee, a principal and the Director of Education. The purpose of PIC is to support, encourage and enhance parent engagement at the school board level in order to improve student achievement and well-being. The parent members of the OCSB PIC are appointed by CSPA.

The Catholic School Parents’ Association (CSPA)

CSPA is a volunteer group representing the parents in our school board. We are a resource for school councils and the parent community for information on local and provincial education issues. Through our website, Twitter, and email newsletters we provide updates on education in Ottawa & Ontario; plus we share great tips, resources and information to help parents support their children in school. All parents are welcome and encouraged to join our e-mail list, follow us on Twitter or attend CSPA monthly meetings.

School Council Meetings

School Council Meetings are typically held on the 3rd Wednesday of the month in the school's Learning Commons (Library) at 6:30 pm.  All parents are welcome to attend.
