Dear Immaculata Families, April 9, 2020

I am hoping that our community still finds ways to connect with friends and family over Easter.  We continue to pray for the health and safety of everyone during these times. Here is an Easter message  from our chaplain.

The Ottawa Catholic School Board has created an information site that will give you Updates, Learning Resources, Well-Being Resources as well as a FAQ Section.  Please visit our school website http://imh.ocsb.ca/ for information and email Immaculata.High@ocsb.ca if you need to contact the school.

The provincial government has provided financial assistance applications to families in need.  Please donate generously online to food banks and to the Catholic Education Foundation to help support struggling families if you can.

We had a successful chromebook distribution day at the school yesterday where we distributed approximately 150 devices to families who required them to connect with their teachers.  We would like to thank all the staff volunteers who helped. These chromebooks will allow our students to continue with their studies and to connect with their teachers.

Teachers are continuing their distance learning courses with their students and teachers will be connecting with parents if they are unable to reach students.  It is important to have safety measures in place for the internet as well as safety measures  for distance learning since teachers are not supervising students during activities.  The Ottawa Public Library has many resources available for students.

Grade 12 students will be receiving a Midterm mark towards the end of April for University/College applications.  Graduating students are encouraged to visit the Grade 12 Website for scholarships.

New registrations can be completed online and you can contact admissions@ocsb.ca if you have any questions.  Please consult school eligibility before you register and please note that grade 6 students from our feeder schools are automatically registered at Immaculata.

The staff really miss all of our students and we are all looking forward to the day that we can see students in person.  We wish you all a Happy Easter!

Principal
